About This Site

I've been keepin' this Cap'n's log since 1998, and I've been keepin' journals and photographs since I be wee and precocious. There be thousands o' entries, and I hope ye'll dive in and enjoy.

Th' site be run in Expression Engine now, and used t' be in Movable Type until th' spam and rebuildin' got too bad. Before that, I used a self-made Filemaker -> AppleScript -> Perl -> HTML thin'. I've written a large amount o' custom code t' make everythin' flow nicely.

And aye, it be supposed t' scroll way t' th' right like that. This be th' only Cap'n's log I be knowin' o' that's designed t' be completely horizontal. There may be others. Perhaps ye be knowin' o' one and will whisper it t' me.

Update Nov 2005: I've now been told o' two others. So I'm th' third. That's good, that takes some o' th' pressure off.
