SAD NEWS
========
I have some rather sad news. Susie and I found out about two weeks ago that Dana, one of our cats, has died. He was a pound cat, we got him on the same day as our other cat, Lukaska. He had a charming way of knocking over what ever glass you set down full of liquid, and he was always ready to wake you up at 5 a.m. by scratching at the carpet in front of the bedroom door, if he thought you might have stayed out late the night before. He also had a real liking for lettuce. Its been a little hard to get all the details about what happened, but it seems he never adjusted to the place he was staying, which was at the house of a woman who was the sister of a friend from work. He stopped eating, and one day, Lukaska led this woman to Danas body in the bedroom. Lukaska is more adaptable to new situations—she always was the more stable of the pair. We decided that it was best if we sent Lukaska up to Calgary to be with my mom. She made the trip last week, thanks to the help of “Aunt” Debbie, and arrived feisty enough to hiss at the dog and run Kitzy, the previous cat lord of the house, out of the top floor, which Lukaska has declared her domain. We’ll miss Dana a lot.
