It seems like people are piling complaints onto Telus, so let me add my story.
My friends Jason and Noriko moved into a new condo in downtown Vancouver on July 22. That’s 116 days ago. They have no phone service still.
As part of their move, they were going to switch from Telus to some other phone provider. But they wanted to keep their number.
Telus said they couldn’t release the number until the strike was over. And so they wait… and wait…
It would be bad enough to be without a land line. It’s even worse, because their condo’s door buzzer requires a land line to work. So they can’t let anyone into the building without coming down, and they can’t tell if anyone is at the front door unless they have their TV turned on to the door camera. It made it a little challenging when they had their housewarming party.
It’s not my story, so if you have questions about the details, I’ll see if I can get Jason to respond in the comments.
