Spirit of the Game: What The Hell Is It?
Here’s the problem: even long-term players like me have a hard time explaining what SOTG is. So I set out to explain it to myself. Then I figured, as long as I’m cleaning up the inside of my head, where these thoughts have percolated since 1987 when I started playing as many do, as part of a group of energetic kids on a big grassy field—I probably ought to get this down somewhere permanent and shareable, so here we are.
