Do not doubt the power of citizen journalism. This is one of the most amazing stories of the Hurricane I've heard told, and it's really no more than the ordinary story of a man who holed up in his apartment for several days, going out to take photos from time to time. Click through 6 pictures, and you'll be hooked. More than anything else, I think it explains why people stayed, and how the mood shifted as the hurricane approached, hit, hit again, and blew away.
